📚 Hello Book Friends! I just finished THE GERMAN WIFE by Kelly Rimmer and I am processing all the emotions this book evoked in me. No doubt about it, Ms. Rimmer delivered another fantastic and well-written historical novel. What I am struggling with is the ethics of the story. This book, although a work of fiction, is based on true events. It is an account of a German family who chose to turn a blind eye to what the German government was doing although they did not agree with it. The same family was eventually brought to the US to help build the American space program. The chocking part is that the American government turned a blind eye to their past and erased all trace of their association with the Nazis so they would not be trialed for their crimes after WWII. Ms. Rimmer succeeded to write a book that leaves the reader to decide if this decision is ethical or not. This is my favourite book by this author. I recommend it.
