Snow Happy Challenge at Guylou's

Gina is challenging us this week to make a project incorporating snow. I made a "Happy New Year" card at the request of my friend Priyanka. She is moving back to India and wanted to give her family some handmade cards for the new year. I used a product called Sparkly Fluff to make the snow on the card and used one of my first images called Margie.

The challenge starts today and ends on December 27th at 10pm. Remember if you use one of my images, you get two entries in the challenge. A random winner will be selected and will win a $10 gift certificate from Guylou's Online Store and will have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer on one of our upcoming challenges.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you and Thank you!!

Sometimes I feel I don't say thank you enough. What amazes me is that I am currently grateful for a bad situation that happened in my life several years ago. I recently renewed friendship with someone I have not seen in many many years. We bumped into each other at a Starbucks on a Saturday morning a few weeks ago. Neither of us live close by that particular Starbucks and yet we met there! Luck!! I don't think so!! Providence!!! Most likely! I don't believe in luck; I believe there is a reason for everything. The sad thing is that he is currently going through what I went through a few years ago. I am able to offer him a much needed support and maybe a bit of wisdom to help him make the right decisions. I am also there to listen when he needs to vent; I wish I had someone to vent to when things were tough for me. This situation he is going through is messy, just like what I had to face several years ago, but if I did not go through this; I would not be able to relate and offer educated support to my friend during this difficult time. For this I am grateful.

This week, Carla is our host at Guylou's!! She is challenging us to make a Thanksgiving or Thank you card.  I used Felicia Mermaid on her side for my card.

The challenge starts today and ends on November 29th at 10pm. Remember if you use one of my images, you get two entries in the challenge. A random winner will be selected and will win a $10 gift certificate from Guylou's Online Store and will have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer on one of our upcoming challenges.

Nostalgic November Challenge at the Outlawz - Week 1

This week, Teresa is our host at the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. She is challenging us to use the following color combo: Saguero Green, Totally Tan and Downing Earth Brown. This week the Nostalgic November Twist is "Make it Vintage".

Ok... this was very very hard for me. I am just not a vintage girl. I was stock and was seriously thinking to skip this challenge, but I really wanted to do a card for Memorial Day. Teresa inspired us with a great pic of her father and I had to man or woman up and just do it.

I used one of my images called Praying Soldier and tried to make the card as vintage as I could.

This month our sponsor is Delicious Doodles. She is offering 4 images to the winner's choice. What an awesome prize!!

Tickle me Challenge at Guylou's Inimitability

Roxann is our host at Guylou's!! She came up with a fantastic challenge: Add one or more feathers on your project. I knew right away which image I was going to use for this challenge. I used my Singing Pirate and added the feathers to his hat. My brother Réjean's birthday is coming up in December and thought it would work well for him. I wish I could translate the card for you, but it contains French Pirate's sayings which would not make any sense in English.

The papers and brads are by My Mind's Eye from their Lost & Found » Union Square » Home Sweet Home series.

The challenge starts today and ends on November 15th at 10pm. Remember if you use one of my images, you get two entries in the challenge. A random winner will be selected and will win a $10 gift certificate from Guylou's Online Store and will have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer on one of our upcoming challenges.

October Opulence Challenge at the Outlawz - Week 5

This week, Roxann is our host at the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. She is challenging us to use the following color combo: Marquis Orange, Fairfax Brown and Victorian Red. This week the October Opulence Twist is "Add a pumpkin".

This time around I used one of my newer images called Felicia and Pumpkin. I was so happy that Roxann did not ask for a Halloween card. I don't have use for them and it is so hard to turn them into birthday card. Thanks Roxann!

Guylou's Inimitability is sponsoring the challenge this month. You will have a chance to win a $10 gift certificate from my store. Don't miss it... go create! Can't wait to see your beautiful creation.

The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson

The Crown of Embers (Fire and Thorns, #2)The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What an exciting and amazing book!!! I looooooved the first one and was concerned that the second one would not be as good... I was wrong!!! This book was even better than the first one. I just wish I could start the third one right away. The waiting will be painful, but I am sure it will be worth it.

The Orchardist by Amanda Coplin

The OrchardistThe Orchardist by Amanda Coplin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First of all I have to thank my fellow readers on Goodreads.com for inspiring me to read this book. I noticed that many people enjoyed reading it and this was a sure indicator that it should be a good book. I was not disappointed. Although, sometime the story was dragging a bit, I loved the writing style, the amazing story itself and all the characters. The author described the surroundings so well; I could almost smell those apples and apricots. The author stayed true to the story, delivering it with just the right amount of intrigue and providing all the details in due time. Beautiful book. I did weep in the end.

This week, Laurian is our host at the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. She is challenging us to use the following color combo: Blood Red, Black Magic and Eye Ball White. This week the October Opulence Twist is "Make it Spooky".

I made the above card for a friend's upcoming birthday. I made a similar card last year using these sentiments and another Frankenstein image and the recipient got a kick out of it. I hope it will be the same with this one. I used one of my new images called Frankein-Miguel for this card.

A Spooktacular Challenge

This week, Kim is challenging us at the Guylou's Inimitability Challenge Blog to make a project using the following recipe:

1 ribbon
2 embellishments (flowers/bling/metals etc...)
3 deco papers
Make it scary/dark/gothic

I have discovered that I am just no good at making scary projects!! My card meets the first three requirements, but fails miserably when it comes to be scary or dark or gothic. But I had fun anyway while making this card and since I don't celebrate Halloween, I turned it into a birthday card. I used the bonus image that comes with Felicia Witch and Pumpkin. I used my Cricut to cut the letters for the big "BOO" and the little ghosts are buttons that my friends Gina gave me a long time ago.

The challenge starts today and ends on November 1st at 10pm. Remember if you use one of my images, you get two entries in the challenge. A random winner will be selected and will win a $10 gift certificate from Guylou's Online Store and will have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer on one of our upcoming challenges.
