📚 Hello Book Friends! I will probably be in the minority when I say that THE END OF HER by Shari Lapena did not meet my expectations. I recently read A Stranger in the House by the same author and really liked it. This one fell short in a few ways:

1. It felt unrealistic. The characters were not acting as normal people do. I know, I know.. this is a novel and I should not expect all characters to behave like normal people. I was just surprised by their reactions or lack of.

2. The ending felt unfinished. Because I do not want to give away anything, let’s say that I felt rushed and again unrealistic.

3. One scene between Patrick and Erica was so left field that I had a hard time to understand why the author would include it in the book.

I have read a few reviews on this book and many people liked it. Maybe it is a case of “It’s not you; it’s me” syndrome and I misunderstood the essence of the book. I am not giving up on this author and will definitely read her next book.
