However, compared to the author's previous work, Fable, this book falls slightly short in captivation. While the characters and their relationships are intriguing, the romance lacks the expected intensity of a forbidden love. The political intrigue and power dynamics are fascinating, but the book attempts too much within its length, leaving certain aspects underdeveloped. Nonetheless, Young's storytelling remains compelling, and readers will undoubtedly look forward to more captivating tales from this talented author. This is the third book in the Fable Series and can be read as a stand-alone.
