📚 Hello Book Friends! CIRCUS OF WONDERS by Elizabeth Macneal is a good read but not what I expected. I thought it would be more of a fantasy. It turned out to be more a historical account of the circus mania in England in the Victorian era. All that obsession with the curiosities, peculiars, and exotics was unsettling and I am glad I did not live during that time period to witness that. The story is well written and, although interesting, was often slow and depressing. I could only read a bit every day because it was making my winter blues bluer. The ending was satisfying but different than I thought it would be.
