📚 Hello Book Friends! The Last Train to Key West by Chanel Cleeton is a fantastic historical novel. This is the third novel by this wonderful author I have the pleasure to read. Ms. Cleeton does not disappoint. Her thorough historical research is evident in her books. In this one, she covers the 1935 hurricane that devastated the Florida Keys. It was the worst hurricane in US history. People were warned only two days before it hit lands, not enough time to prepare. Over 500 people lost their lives, most of them were veterans from the Great War who were living in the most rudimental camps. I invite you to Google the 1935 Hurricane and find out more about what happened.

In this historical book, Ms. Cleeton delivers a moving and edge-of-your-seat novel about three women whose lives will intertwine during this major event. I don’t want to give too much away because it is a book that everyone should read. It is well-written, the characters are wonderful, and the story will make you reflect on the treatment of veterans at that time and how we are treating them today.
