My Review:
The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory is a witty contemporary romance. Nikole is proposed by her boyfriend during a Dodgers game and the proposal is broadcasted on the baseball stadium JumboTron. Nik has been dating Fisher for only a few months and she can’t believe that he would assume that their relationship was mature enough to consider tying the knot; so she says no. This turns into a news sensation and when the stadium cameramen are about to crowd her, she is rescued by Carlos and his sister who were sitting just behind her. To show them her gratitude, Nik invites Angela and Carlos for celebratory drinks with her friends. Though she is now swearing off men, Nik finds herself attracted to Carlos and the feeling is mutual.

Despite my initial eagerness to delve deeper into the narrative, the unexpected weightiness of the prose caught me off guard.
