My Review:
I have seen the movie Mary Poppins starring Julie Andrews so many times and loved it. I also saw the movie Saving Mr. Banks starring Tom Hanks which is about Walt Disney convincing P. L.Travers to give him the rights to create a movie adaptation of her book. Ms. Travers resisted a long time before granting the rights to Disney because she was afraid they were going to make a mockery of her story.

After reading the first book in the Mary Poppins series, I know now why Ms. Travers was so upset about the movie adaptation. The movie and the book do not match and I can honestly say that I like the book better. This is an enthralling story of four children, their odd nanny and the magic that springs when most needed. I cannot wait to read the next book and to continue discovering this enchanting story.
