I have mixed feelings about UGLY LOVE by Colleen Hoover. I am debating giving 3 or 4❤️ to this book. Some parts I really enjoyed (e.g. overprotective big brother; wise elderly person; steamy sex scenes) and others made me cringe (e.g. angry sex; lying to oneself; making excuses for someone’s abusive behaviour). Tate was too weak for my taste. She let Miles take advantage of her and abuse her feelings too much. In real life, this would not fly. Why would you stay in an emotional abusive relationship? On the other hand, you need to remind yourself that this is fiction and continue to read to the end to see if there is possible redemption. I enjoyed this novel nonetheless and because I can’t make up my mind, I will give it 3.5❤️ and round it up to 4❤️.
