Heartstopper: Volume One📚 Happy Monday, Book Friends! The Pooches & Pages Book Club discussed HEARTSTOPPER by Alice Oseman last night. Thank you, Jaclyn, (@thewatsonreview) for leading the discussion. There is a lot of hype about this book and Netflix series. I liked the book but did not like the illustrations much. I felt that many of the illustrations were fillers and brought nothing to the story. The story itself is lovely and deserved all the hype it is getting. The book is written by a female, and I think she succeeded in capturing the emotional aspect of the love relationship between Charlie and Nick. I wonder if the book would have been written differently if the author had been male. The ending was good but way too open for interpretation. I will get the other books and continue reading. I am also planning to watch the series on Netflix soon.
