I received an ARC related to this series from Minotaur Books and thought it would be a good idea to familiarize myself with the characters by reading the first book in the series. This book was a fantastic read. I tried to guess who the murderer was all along but failed. This is a sign of a great book. In this book, we are introduced to Rev. Clare Fergusson, a female priest who just moved in the upstate New York town of Millers Kill, and to Russ Van Alstyne, Chief of Police in the same town. After a baby boy is left at the doors of the church and a young woman is found dead, Clare and Russ team up to try to figure out if the two are related. Their investigation will lead them to many suspects and as they get closer to the truth, danger is also knocking at their doors.

This was a great read and I am looking forward to reading Hid From Our Eyes by the same author.
