✏️ My Review:
I decided to listen to this book instead of reading it. Being non-fiction, I knew that there would be a lot of details and that it could be a dry read. I enjoyed the case and how the investigation was performed. The two lawyers at the trial were worthy adversaries even if they were very civilized and polite. I was surprised at how many witnesses were questioned at the trial and the variety of testimonies. Since I did not know anything about this trial, I did not know the outcome either. From all the testimonies and evidence presented it was hard to predict which verdict the jury was going to deliver.

Listening to the argument that a woman’s state of mind can change from docile to violent when on her menses showed how little womanhood was understood in those days. Will it ever be known if Lizzie Borden killed her father and step-mother? If not her, who did it?

Very interesting book for all lovers of true crime stories.
