My Review:
I am a ball of emotions after reading this beautiful novel. Although I knew that I would be a mess by the end, I was surprised to find so many nuggets of cat humour throughout the book. This is the story of a young man who takes home a tabby cat after he was hit by a car. Five years later, Satoru finds out that he does not have long to live and he embarks on a journey with Nana across Japan to move with his aunt. Along the way, Satoru tried to find someone to take his cat but Nana does everything in his power to dissuade any adoptive potentials. Eventually, Satoru and Nana move with his aunt but the sickness is winning and they are soon separated. Nana will do all he can to be with Satoru.

The book is written in the voices of Satoru and Nana. It is a beautiful story of love and loss. The writing is full of beautiful images and lovely turn of phrases. If you are planning to read this book, please make sure you have some tissues with you.
