March Madness at The Outlawz Tuesday Colour Challenge - Week 5

This week at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge, we will be using Light blue, Purple, and Creamy white. The "March Madness" is "add a charm".
Please use this image for inspiration.
The above card is a custom order for a client whose best friend is a world traveler. She wanted a birthday card with an image that had all the places her friend visited so far. I came up with the Travel sign and put a Canadian flag on the suitcase. I also drew the same image and added an American flag on the suitcase and made a blank one for people to add the countries of their choice.

This colour combo was challenging for me and required a bit of thinking. I am not totally satisfied with it, but since my client loved it, I guess it will have to do.

Just a reminder that Guylou's Inimitability is sponsoring the March Tuesday Colour Challenges and that you have the chance to win a $10 voucher from the GI online store. This week is the last week you can enter the challenge and have a chance to win.

I hope you will join us this week at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. I am looking forward to see what you will do with this colour combination. Don't forget the March Madness: "Add a charm".

March Madness at The Outlawz Tuesday Colour Challenge - Week 4

This week at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge, we will be using Blue, Green, Purple. The "March Madness" is "Use Paint".
Please use this image for inspiration.
This is the first time I use paint on a card. I messed up my first try. It looked like a badly digested meal because I used the three colours!! For my second try, I used only one of the colours and it turned out better. I used one of my latest images entitled "Sunday & Paint".

Sundae is my one year old miniature poodle. She is a bit of a trouble maker. Last Friday she swallowed one of my hair scrunchies and I had to take her to the vet emergency hospital. The Vet induced vomiting and the scrunchy came out. She had me sooooo worried! I am just glad that she is ok.

I see dots challenge at Guylou's Inimitability

Guylou's Inimitability is having a fun challenge starting today until the end of the month. All you have to do is create a project with some polkadots on it. Easy as pie!

I made the above card for Maria, a co-worker who left my company to start her own consulting company. I am impressed by her courage and boldness and deep down I know that she will succeed. Maria and I started in my current company about the same time and we got along so well. I will miss her and wish her all the best.

I hope you will join us in the "I see dots" challenge. The winner will be awarded a digistamp of her or his choice from the Guylou's Inimitability Store and will also be invited to be a Guest Designer on an upcoming challenge and will get another GI digistamp to make a card or project along the DT.

The challenge runs until March 31st at 10pm. Please take a moment and go see what the other DT members and our Guest Designer, Sara, did with the feature digistamp called Cat & Fish on Guylou's Inimitability. What talented artists!!

March Madness at The Outlawz Tuesday Colour Challenge - Week 3

This week at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge, we will be using 3 shades of green (at least 3). The "March Madness" is "Add Glitter".
Please use this image for inspiration.
I made the above card for my brother Jacques's birthday which is today (March 15). Jacques hunts deer every year; that's one of his passions. Below is a picture of him with a deer he hunted using his crossbow. Some of you might not agree with the practice of hunting, and I can assure you that my brother hunts for the meat, not for the trophy. His wife, Denise, makes a super delicious deer roast, trust me... I always look forward to be invited for dinner at their house.
Bonne fête Jacques!

Sundae turns one year old

My beautiful little Sundae turned a year old today. She is such a lovely dog, so elegant and lady like. She is a wonderful furbaby.

Recently I was asked to write a short story for a dog newsletter. It turned out that this is not what they were looking for and I had to rewrite another one. I like the first one better than the second and did not want to waste it, so I thought I would share it with you. I hope you will enjoy it!

Like in all the good stories, ours also has a "Once upon a time..." there was a youth Miniature Poodle Princess named Sundae who was very very sad because she lost her only companion, an old and wise Chesapeake Bay Retriever Duchess named Joy. Sundae was not accustomed to be on her own and every day she felt sadder and sadder. She spent a lot of time with her faithful human servants, Lady Guylaine and her son Jeremy, demanding their constant attention, but it was not the same.

Her human servants loved her so much and they were saddened by their little Princess Sundae’s dismay. So they decided to go on a long and difficult journey in a land called "Internet" and searched for the best companion they could find for her. After a few weeks, and when they thought they would never find such a companion, they arrived in a village called “Speaking of Dogs” and here she was. A tiny and so pretty Toy Poodle Princess named Chili. They rejoiced and started speaking to her keepers, Lady Lorraine and Lady Marlo to let them know of their intent.

This was not going to be easy and they had to prove themselves worthy of taking care of Princess Chili. Tests were presented and they performed them with success. At last, they brought Princess Chili to their humble castle where Princess Sundae was waiting for them. The entire kingdom rejoiced as Princess Sundae’s happiness returned. It was instant friendship, a match made in heaven. And like in all the good stories, “They lived happily ever after”.

March Madness at The Outlawz Tuesday Colour Challenge - Week 2

This week at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge, we are going to play with Orange and Pink (my favorite colour!!). The "March Madness" is "Add Flowers".
Please use this image for inspiration.

I love the orange and pink colour combination. It's so cheery and fun. I used it to make a birthday card for my dear friend Danni. Danni and I never met in person. We became friends through an internet chat room on scrapbook.com and I hope one day soon we will be able to meet face to face.

This year, I wanted to do something special for her birthday. I decided to draw a digi in her honour; I called it "Danni Goes Shopping". I made the card using that awesome colour combo and for the March Madness, I made some roses using pink and orange papers. It was a fun card to make.

Did you know that Guylou's Inimitability is sponsoring the March Tuesday Colour Challenges? You have a chance to win a $10 voucher from the GI online store. Don't miss out on this opportunity.

Sketch Challenge at Guylou's Inimitability

Have you ever asked yourself the question, "Why is reading important?" We all believe that reading is important, but not all of us read on a regular basis. I read between 30 and 50 books a year. Just like my body needs food and water to survive, I see reading as the nourishment for my mind and I would even say: my soul.

Reading encourages me to think. It educates me, entertains me and even challenges me. It increases my hunger for knowledge and my thirst to learn more.

March is Reading Month. I encourage you to pick up a book, new or old it does not matter, and read it this month. Your brain will thank you for it.

This week at Guylou's Inimitability, we got to make cards with Caroline and Marysse. I just had enough time to make one with Caroline. I love how her mind is wondering as she is reading a good book. I got to play with a fantastic sketch that Carmen, a member of our DT, prepared for us. This week's challenge is to create a project using this wonderful sketch. Don't forget to go check out what the DT and our Guest Designer, Barbara, did with the feature images and the sketch at Guylou's Inimitability. You will be blown away by the talent these ladies demonstrate.
