THE LAST LEGACY by Adrienne Young presents a gripping tale of family, secrets, and forbidden romance. Bryn Roth receives a letter from her uncle Henrik on her eighteenth birthday, urging her to return to her estranged family in Bastian. Determined to prove herself and find her place among the Roths, Bryn soon discovers the dark underbelly of their influential status. Despite the alluring forbidden romance with Ezra, a man tied to her family's shadowy dealings, Bryn must navigate treacherous waters to gain their trust. Adrienne Young's engaging writing style draws readers into the story, with chapter endings that leave them eager for more. However, compared to the author's previous work, Fable, this book falls slightly short in captivation. While the characters and their relationships are intriguing, the romance lacks the expected intensity of a forbidden love. The political intrigue and power dynamics are fascinating, but the book attempts too much within its length, leaving certain aspects underdeveloped. Nonetheless, Young's storytelling remains compelling, and readers will undoubtedly look forward to more captivating tales from this talented author. This is the third book in the Fable Series and can be read as a stand-alone.
