Since the age of 15, she has been working in Archie's bookstore and found a haven amongst all the old books. As an adult, she is struggling with trust issues and must face her past in order to tackle her future. She is surrounded by loving people who have her best interest, but a threat lucks in the shadows and could cause her much damage. When I read the book synopsis, I thought this book to be a light love story. I was not exactly that! Although this is a love story, this book deals with deeper elements such as domestic violence. Stephanie Butland delivers a heartfelt story of love, forgiveness, and poetry. Many thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC of The Lost for Words Bookshop by Stephanie Butland. The Life Lucy Knew by Karma Brown My rating: 3 of 5 stars I want to thank Netgalley and Harlequin for the ARC of The Life Lucy Knew by Karma Brown. This book will be available at your favourite bookstore on June 12, 2018. Lucy wakes up in a hospital bed after spending several weeks in a coma caused by a bad fall. She is surrounded by her parents, and Matt, her boyfriend. She recognizes her family, but her memories of the past four years do not match reality. Her relationship with Matt is threatened by false memories. Lucy is confused and is trying to gain back those four years, but not everyone is honest with her. The story is interesting and well structured. I really liked how Karma Brown developed Lucy's relationships with each character. I would have given it 4 stars, but the ending twist is a bit anticlimactic and left me with too many unanswered questions. View all my reviews

Let Me Lie by Clare Mackintosh My rating: 4 of 5 stars I am a huge fan of Clare Mackintosh's novels. Once more, she delivered a strong mystery/thriller with a spectacular ending. This is the story of Anna, a young mother, who lost both her mother and her father to suicide. Anna is still grieving and on the anniversary of her mother's death, she received a card which challenges the suicide verdict and insinuates that her parents were murdered. Anna turns to Murray, a retired detective, to reopen the case and find out who murdered her parents. I had several theories as to who did it and usually, I am right on by 2/3 of a book. but not this time. The twist was jaw-droppingly awesome. Let Me Lie is the third book I read by this author and she continues to impress me. Clare Mackintosh expertly delivers great and unique novels; keeping you guessing to the end. Treeborne by Caleb Johnson My rating: 2 of 5 stars Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan-Picador for this ARC of Treeborne by Caleb Johnson. This book is due in your favourite bookstore on June 5, 2018. I am not going to lie, this was a hard read. I found the story confusing and anything to do with Crusoe very weird and would have like to understand that part better. The characters were interesting and well defined. Caleb Johnson has a talent for describing the landscapes. Unfortunately, in my opinion, there were too many loose ends and the ending did not bring a conclusion to the story. I seem to be in the minority of people who did not like this book, so I will let you be the judge if you get a copy. View all my reviews

The Heart Forger by Rin Chupeco My rating: 4 of 5 stars The Heart Forger by Rin Chupeco is the second book in the "The Bone Witch" series. This is not a series for children or young teenagers. It deals with very elements and can frighten even someone like me. I do like the series because it is complexed, filled with action and constantly on the move. The book reads between the present and the past alternatively. It can be hard sometimes to follow as there are so many characters and places to keep track of in the two timelines. I still enjoy reading it and I am looking forward to the next book in 2019. View all my reviews

The Other Woman by Sandie Jones My rating: 5 of 5 stars A big thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the thrilling ARC of The Other Woman by Sandie Jones due to arrive at your favourite bookstore on August 21st, 2018. There is so much I would like to say about this exhilarating book, but I am afraid I would be spoiling the plot. What I can say is that this story triggered strong emotions in me. So much so that I had to check my temper last night before talking to my hubby because I was enraged with the story. After calming down, I could only be thankful to have such a wonderful man in my life who loves me and respects me. Very few books can spark this level of outrage. The Other Woman is a well-written, raw, and unforgiving thriller with many twists. I loved it! View all my reviews
