All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book left me out of breath. The story, the characters, the places were all weaved to each other perfectly. All the Light We Cannot See moved me deeply and was one of the best read I had in a while. It was so well written and each page contains its own delights. I thought I knew how it would end and did not get what I expected... I got better. I recommend it to all! View all my reviews

Inferno by Dan Brown My rating: 4 of 5 stars This is the forth book with the great character, Robert Langdon. I don't think I will ever get tired to read books about history, geography, architecture, arts and symbols when they are all mixed together. Inferno is an awesome book. It is full of action and suspense. I love to travel with Robert Langdon and discover all these wonderful places in other parts of the world. I even Google the places as I read to envision where the story is taking place. It makes me want to go there and see these places myself. Dan Brown stayed true to the series and offered all the right elements for a great read! View all my reviews

The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion My rating: 5 of 5 stars Graeme Simsion is an awesome writer. This is the second book I read from him that I could not put down. I found this book to be filled with emotions. I laughed at so many passages and I was deeply sad at others. I recommend you read The Rosie Project prior to starting this book. I will help situate the story. I hope the author will write another book with these extraordinary characters. View all my reviews

Everlost by Brenda Pandos My rating: 4 of 5 stars This is the last book of the Mer Tales series. I enjoyed the story from Tatiana's point of view. This book was better than the second one. It was filled with lots of action and revelations. I think this is a great clean series with good values. View all my reviews

Evergreen by Brenda Pandos My rating: 4 of 5 stars This is the second book in the Mer Tales series. Most second books in a series are not as exciting as the first one. They usually set the story up for the grand finale. Evergreen was exactly that. There were good action sequences and some important elements of the story were revealed. This is a nice light reading. The Canary Room by Edwin F. Casebeer My rating: 2 of 5 stars I received a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review. I got to page 54 and just could not continue this novel. The different font treatments are aggravating and sometime the font is so small it is hard to read the text. The story just did not grab me enough to continue. Although this novel was not for me; it doesn't mean that it is not for you. This novel is about the life of a 12 year old whose parents are divorced and he is asked to live with another family during the months that follow the attack on Pearl Harbour. It deals with Herman's way to adapt to the separation, to the repercussions of the war and more. View all my reviews

The Sleuth Sisters by Maggie Pill My rating: 4 of 5 stars What a fantastic book!!!! I particularly liked that the main characters are women in their late forties, early fifties, and that they are portrayed as strong, intelligent and witty. This is a great detective story with all the right elements. The dynamic between the three sisters is well depicted and anyone coming from a family made of many siblings of the same gender would relate to the relationship complexities and clashing of personalities. The book has also a fun side story which made me chuckle. I am looking forward to reading the next book. View all my reviews
