Review: Waiting for Tom Hanks

Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey My rating: 4 of 5 stars I really enjoyed this fun romcom. I needed something to cleanse my reading palette and this did the job. I enjoyed the feel-good story about the ups and downs of Annie’s love life. The story setting was well planned, and the plot was interesting and well delivered. It was an entertaining read and I am looking forward to the next book to find out what’s in store for Annie’s best friend, Chloe. #poodles #poodlestagram #poodlesofinstagram #furbabies #dogsofinstagram #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #book #books #booklover #bookish #bookaholic #reading #readersofinstagram #instaread #ilovebooks #bookishcanadians #canadianbookstagram #bookreviewer #bookcommunity #bibliophile #bookphotography #waitingfortomhanks #kerrywinfrey #bookreview #romcom View all my reviews

Review: The Whisper Man

The Whisper Man by Alex North My rating: 5 of 5 stars Ok! I must admit that I will probably have nightmares after reading this book. The abduction of a child is the biggest fear of a parent. A new house, a new start. Young widow, Tom Kennedy only wishes this for him and his son. But there are whispers in the night and a child is in danger. This book freaked me out and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. If you like dark thrillers, this one is a must read. But make sure you lock your doors and keep the lights on. #poodles #poodlestagram #poodlesofinstagram #furbabies #dogsofinstagram #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #book #books #booklover #bookish #bookaholic #reading #readersofinstagram #instaread #ilovebooks #bookishcanadians #canadianbookstagram #bookreviewer #bookcommunity #bibliophile #bookphotography #thewhisperman #alexnorth #bookreview #thriller View all my reviews

Review: The Last Train to London

The Last Train to London by Meg Waite Clayton My rating: 5 of 5 stars This is one of the most moving historical novels I have ever read. This book is based on the life of Geertruida Wijsmuller-Meijer (a.k.a. Tante Truus), an Austrian woman who stood for justice and risked her own life to rescue hundreds of Jewish children during WWII. She was a true hero. The story follows two Austrian children. Stephan Neuman wants to be a play-writer when he grows up. Zofie-Helene Perger wants to be a mathematician when she grows up. They become friends but when Germany annexes Austria in 1938, Stephan, a young Jew, is no longer permitted to be friend with Zofie, a young Arian. Their beautiful friendship will be shaken but not broken. When offered a chance to go to Great Britain, they both embark on a long journey of discovery, courage and commitment. 🙋🏼‍♀️ Thank you, Harper Collins Canada for sending me an ARC of this extraordinary book. Review: The Mother-in-Law

The Mother-in-Law by Sally Hepworth My rating: 4 of 5 stars When you think you know who did it, the author throws another monkey wrench in the story. I love to be surprised! The Mother-in-Law is an exciting mystery/thriller, full of twists and turns. When the matriarch Diana dies a suspicious death, the entire family is under suspicion. Was it a suicide or did one person had a good motive to kill her. The end is fantastic! I recommend it. #poodles #poodlestagram #poodlesofinstagram #furbabies #dogsofinstagram #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #book #books #booklover #bookish #bookaholic #reading #readersofinstagram #instaread #ilovebooks #bookishcanadians #canadianbookstagram #bookreviewer #bookcommunity #bibliophile #bookphotography #themotherinlaw #sallyhepworth #bookreview View all my reviews

Review: To the Lions

To the Lions by Holly Watt My rating: 4 of 5 stars Holy Molly! This book was soooo good! What a ride! Casey and Miranda are journalists for The Post. While doing some investigative work at a bar, Casey overhears a conversation between two men about a manhunt at a refugee camp. Someone can pay a lot of money to be transported near a camp and shoot any refugee without retaliation. Casey and Miranda launch the biggest journalistic investigation of their career to uncover who is organizing these manhunts and bring them to justice. This will be a very dangerous mission. Stopping at nothing, Casey will go deep undercover but at what cost? This book is exciting, thrilling and non-stop action. The writing and the plot are top notch. I can see this book becoming a movie. 🙋🏼‍♀️ Thank you, Penguin Random House Canada for sending me a final copy of this exhilarating book. To the Lions by Holly Watt will be available at your favourite bookstore on September 3, 2019. #poodles #poodlestagr...
