October Opulence Challenge at the Outlawz - Week 5

This week, Roxann is our host at the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. She is challenging us to use the following color combo: Marquis Orange, Fairfax Brown and Victorian Red. This week the October Opulence Twist is "Add a pumpkin".

This time around I used one of my newer images called Felicia and Pumpkin. I was so happy that Roxann did not ask for a Halloween card. I don't have use for them and it is so hard to turn them into birthday card. Thanks Roxann!

Guylou's Inimitability is sponsoring the challenge this month. You will have a chance to win a $10 gift certificate from my store. Don't miss it... go create! Can't wait to see your beautiful creation.

The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson

The Crown of Embers (Fire and Thorns, #2)The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What an exciting and amazing book!!! I looooooved the first one and was concerned that the second one would not be as good... I was wrong!!! This book was even better than the first one. I just wish I could start the third one right away. The waiting will be painful, but I am sure it will be worth it.

The Orchardist by Amanda Coplin

The OrchardistThe Orchardist by Amanda Coplin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First of all I have to thank my fellow readers on Goodreads.com for inspiring me to read this book. I noticed that many people enjoyed reading it and this was a sure indicator that it should be a good book. I was not disappointed. Although, sometime the story was dragging a bit, I loved the writing style, the amazing story itself and all the characters. The author described the surroundings so well; I could almost smell those apples and apricots. The author stayed true to the story, delivering it with just the right amount of intrigue and providing all the details in due time. Beautiful book. I did weep in the end.

October Opulence Challenge at the Outlawz - Week 4

This week, Laurian is our host at the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. She is challenging us to use the following color combo: Blood Red, Black Magic and Eye Ball White. This week the October Opulence Twist is "Make it Spooky".

I made the above card for a friend's upcoming birthday. I made a similar card last year using these sentiments and another Frankenstein image and the recipient got a kick out of it. I hope it will be the same with this one. I used one of my new images called Frankein-Miguel for this card.

A Spooktacular Challenge

This week, Kim is challenging us at the Guylou's Inimitability Challenge Blog to make a project using the following recipe:

1 ribbon
2 embellishments (flowers/bling/metals etc...)
3 deco papers
Make it scary/dark/gothic

I have discovered that I am just no good at making scary projects!! My card meets the first three requirements, but fails miserably when it comes to be scary or dark or gothic. But I had fun anyway while making this card and since I don't celebrate Halloween, I turned it into a birthday card. I used the bonus image that comes with Felicia Witch and Pumpkin. I used my Cricut to cut the letters for the big "BOO" and the little ghosts are buttons that my friends Gina gave me a long time ago.

The challenge starts today and ends on November 1st at 10pm. Remember if you use one of my images, you get two entries in the challenge. A random winner will be selected and will win a $10 gift certificate from Guylou's Online Store and will have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer on one of our upcoming challenges.

Please take a moment to go see what my fellow DT members and our Guest Designer, Vicky, did for this challenge at Guylou's Inimitability.

October Opulence Challenge at the Outlawz - Week 3

This week, I am hosting at the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. My challenge is to use the following color combo: Yellow Pepper, Green Pepper and Red Pepper. This week the October Opulence Twist is "Include something to do with cooking".

I am well known for my love of cooking. I love to try new dishes and experiment with my own recipe. For thanks giving I changed my Maple Apple Crumble by adding some strawberries in the centre. It was a bit hit.  One of my dreams is to buy a small villa in Lunenberg, Nova Scotia, right by the sea and open a B&B where I could entertain guests with my cooking. Who knows, maybe some day.

I made the above card for my friend Miguel. He is a chef by profession and recently decided to take a sabbatical leave to live the gypsy life. What is the gypsy life, you ask? Well, it is to go wherever the wind brings you and take the time to enjoy it. Miguel went through a lot and needed a time to reset his life. I know he will find peace and completeness and be back to normal in time.

I used one of my new images called Miguel and Lemons.

Just to Die For - Challenge at Guylou's

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog. This week at Guylou's Inimitability, Chana is challenging us to make a project using our favorite die cut. I don't have a favorite one, but I thought to experiment with the idea and try something new. I tried to create an under water scene using three die cuts: seaweeds, a big shell and a captain wheel. I Stickle'd the edges of the shell and the seaweeds to give an effect of light reflection. I also added one of my new images called Felicia Mermaid  and a few dolphin stickers. I colered the image using my Copics and then I Stickle'd her hair, breast covers, waist and tail with a "Star Dust".

The challenge starts today and ends on October 18th at 10pm. Remember if you use one of my images, you get two entries in the challenge. A random winner will be selected and will win a $10 gift certificate from Guylou's Online Store and will have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer on one of our upcoming challenges.

Please take a moment to go see what my fellow DT members and our Guest Designer, Elaine, did for this challenge at Guylou's Inimitability.

October Opulence Challenge at the Outlawz - Week 1

This week, Margaret is our host at the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. She is challenging us to use the following color combo: Phoenician Purple, Veiled Violet and Hep Green. This week the October Opulence Twist is "Add pearls".

This month I have the pleasure to sponsor the color challenge. I will be offering a $10 gift certificate to the winner. I love to sponsor this challenge as I get a chance to use my digis all month long. This week, however I used a wonderful image created by Trina a new artist in my store. I am so happy that Trina accepted to be one of the artists in my store. She is a talented lady. Please check all her digis here. The beautiful image I used is called Girl 2

I made the above card for my friend Franchesca who just moved to Toronto from the US and started a new job. That was a big decision for her and I wanted to make sure she knows that she is welcome and that I appreciate her.

I hope you will join us this week at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. Can't wait to see what you will do with this color combination.
