Tag! You're It!!

Thanks for visiting my blog. This week at Guylou's Inimitability, my dear friend Roxann is challenging us to make a tag big enough to include an image. I selected Binker for my tag. I am not very good at making tags so I keep my creativity to a bare minimum before it turns into a disaster.

The challenge starts today and ends on June 14th at 10pm. Remember if you use one of my images, you get two entries in the challenge. A random winner will be selected and will win a $10 gift certificate from Guylou's Online Store and will have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer on one of our upcoming challenges.

Please take a moment to go see what my fellow DT members did for this challenge at Guylou's Inimitability.

May Magnificence at The Outlawz Color Challenge - Week 5

This week, Roxann will be our host at the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. She is challenging us to use the following color combo: Deep Plum, Queenly Lilac and Moss Green. This week the May Magnificence Twist is "Make it a tag".

I used one of my images called Felicia and the mushroom for my tag. This is the first time I made a tag with an image. I kept it simple... better be safe than sorry.

Our sponsor this month is Dearie Dolls Digis. The owner of Dearie Dolls Digis has temporarily closed her online store; it should be back online soon. She donated four wonderful images to the DT and they will be offered to our monthly winner as our prize. Keep an eye for them, they are totally fabulous.

I hope you will join us this week at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. Can't wait to see what you will do with this color combination.

May Magnificence at The Outlawz Color Challenge - Week 4

This week, Teresa will be our host at the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. She is challenging us to use the following stunning color combo: Skyplash Pink, Sunset Orange and Skybright Yellow. This week the May Magnificence Twist is "Add inking or painting technique".

I tried to capture the essence of the beautiful sunset on the inspiration photo. I painted a big pink daisy with some light yellow acrylic paint. I made sure that the pink peeks here and there to create a sunset hue. I added some swirled stickers to reproduce the sun rays and I used a raised sticker for the centre of the flower. I also used some shinny orange paper to mimic the sun brightness.

May Magnificence at The Outlawz Color Challenge - Week 3

This week, I am your host at the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. I am challenging you to use the following fruity color combo: Citrus Yellow, Mandarin Orange and Apple Slice White. This week the May Magnificence Twist is "Add a fruit print or embellishment".

This color combo was a challenge for me... yup! I chose it and it was a challenge... go figure. I am not a fan of yellow, but that image was so delicious and the colors so vibrant; I had to use it for my challenge. I used one of my images for my card called Felicia and the Cherry. I had the citrus paper in my left over paper bin and thought it would work well for the twist.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Loved the story! The author described the landscape so beautifully; I want to go there! Love all the little nuggets about Irish beliefs. I also like the surprising last chapters... did not see this coming.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1)Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really liked it, but I just feel like I have been robbed since this is the first book of a series and I will have to wait for the next one to come up before knowing what happens next. Ugghhh!!!

It is written for young people, but adults will enjoy it too. I would normally not be tempted to read such a book, but the reviews on goodreads.com were so good; I decided to give it a try. The critics were right; the book was good, but now I have to wait for book number two to know what's next. :|

May Magnificence at The Outlawz Color Challenge - Week 2

This week, Ursula will be our host at the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. She is challenging us to use the following fun color combo: Afternoon Blue, Talipot Palm Green and Red Riding Hood. This week the May Magnificence Twist is "Add a red embellishment".

I made the above card for my mom for Mother's Day. I selected one of images donated to the DT by our monthly sponsor, Dearie Dolls Digis. The digi is called Dearie Dolls Princess Girl. Dearie Dolls Digis is offering the four images donated to the DT as prize for our monthly winner.

I paper-pieced most of the image. I love to use that technique. I added a few red embellishments on the card to meet the twist.

I hope you will join us this week at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. Can't wait to see what you will do with this color combination.

We have a great news to share; we have a new member on our team: Carla. I have known Carla only through her participation in our challenges and through The Outlawz forum. All her creations are stunning. I am in awe of her talent and I feel so blessed that she has accepted to join our team. Welcome Carla!!!

For our regular challenge, I prepared the above card. Tracy challenged us to use punches, die cuts and bling on our projects. I used Serena plays her guitar. I like this image because she is fresh, cool and modern. I personally play the guitar and that little image reminds me of me when I was much younger. Oh the memories!!

I used a Spellbinder die template for the image and mat and used a punch by EK for the border. I love that punch because of the fleur-de-lys which represents my French culture. I added little pink diamonds in the center of the fleur-de-lys and a little bling star in the top right corner of the image.

The challenge starts today and ends on May 17th at 10pm. Remember if you use one of my images, you get two entries in the challenge. A random winner will be selected and will win a $10 gift certificate from Guylou's Online Store and will have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer on one of our upcoming challenges.

May Magnificence at The Outlawz Color Challenge - Week 1

This week, Lori will be our host at the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. She is challenging us to use the following springy color combo: New Grass Green, Classic Key Lime and Prairie Sage. This week the Artsy April Twist is "Add something leafy".

Our sponsor this month is Dearie Dolls Digis owned by Mary Ellen, a wonderful and very talented artist. Mary Ellen recently lost her husband and has temporarily closed her online store. Our prayers and thoughts are with her and her family during this difficult time. She assured me that her store will be back online when she is ready to resume business. The DT and I were blessed to receive four of her beautiful images to play with this month. These four images will be offered to our monthly winner as our prize. Keep an eye for them, they are totally fabulous.

For this project I used Dearie Dolls Garden Angel. Isn't she the cutest little thing ever!! I had such a great time coloring her. Although they are small; they are there. I used a paper sunflower with little green leaves for the twist.

I hope you will join us this week at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. Can't wait to see what you will do with this color combination.
