OctoberFest with an Oddball Twist at The Outlawz Tuesday Colour Challenge - Week 4

Please use this image as inspiration
I love these high contrast colors in this week's Tuesday Color Challenge at The Outlawz.. Our challenge is to use the following colors: White, Black and Harvest Pumpkin on our projects. This week the Oddball Twist is "use something recycled in your project".

I made this card using one of our sponsor's image called Hween Brat pumpkin. I don't personally celebrate Halloween, but I have to admit that this digistamp is sooooo cute. I made this card for a client. My recycled twist is the ghost and pumpkin button which came from another card I received many years ago.

Don't forget that by entering the challenge, you get a chance to win seven (7) digistamps from this month sponsor Bugaboo Stamps.

I hope you will join us this week at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. Please go have a look at what my fellow DT members and our Guest Designer did for this challenge and leave them some luv. I am looking forward to see what you will do with this color combination.

I also entered this card in these following challenges:
Crafty Boots - Autumn or Halloween
Creative Stamp Friends - Halloween
Daisy Doodles Creative Challenge - Halloween
Hooked on Crafts - Something Spooky
Kaboodle Doodles - Halloween/Fall
Pollycraft - Spooky Goings On

F A L L Recipe Challenge at Guylou's Inimitability

I don't know if you noticed in your part of the world that Fall is here. In Toronto, I definitely noticed. The leaves have changed into these beautiful tones of red, orange and yellow and the temperature has taken a major deep (this part I don't like much). In honor of FALL, Guylou's Inimitability has a new challenge. Gina will be our host and she is challenging us to make a project following this F A L L recipe:
  • F = Fabric
  • A = Amber (color)
  • L = Lace
  • L = Leaf or leaves
I love recipe challenges. It makes it easier for me to make a card. I had a bit of a challenge with the fabric item, but after finding a stash of fabric odds and ends in my sowing stuff, I had the idea to make a flower. I somewhat followed a patterned I found at Maize Hutton.

I used Dorothy and Pumpkins for my project. I had fun coloring her. I used amber colored gems to decorate the card and a beautiful lace my friend Theresa from South Africa sent me. You will find my leaf in the center of the flower. :D

The challenge starts today and ends at 10:00pm on November 3rd. A random winner will be selected and will win a $10 gift certificate from Guylou's Inimitability Online Store and an opportunity to be a Guest Designer on an upcoming challenge. Please take a moment and see what my fellow DT members and Jen, our Guest Designer, did for this challenge at Guylou's Inimitability. Happy Fall to everyone!!

I also entered this project in the following projects:
C.R.A.F.T. - Autumn/Fall
Art Impressions Stamps Challenge - Lace
Little Miss Muffet Challenges - Girly Girl
Shelly's Images - Anything Goes
Paper Shelter Challenge -  #36 Harvest

For every challenge you get wonderful images from quality artists for FREE!! Yup!! FOR FREE!!! There is a small fee if you are joining for the first time or have not met the "one project per challenge" minimum requirement ($1).

For my first card I selected this fantastic image by SSBS Design called Girl with gingerboys. She is soooooo cute!!! I also selected colors from the cool colors to have a chance to be selected to receive the next challenge images in advance. That is cool!!!

I used my Cricut to cut a wonderful free snowflake svg I found at Much Ado About Nothing.

What a surprise!!!

I am blessed with such wonderful and caring friends. Who can ask for more? My DT and friends have put together a blog hop in honour of my birthday! I found out early this morning by mistake. I usually do not check my bog until I get to work, but my BlackBerry is not working properly and needed to sync it. When I checked my email, I was surprise to see a lot of activity coming from my blog. I checked and Wow!!

This is by far the best birthday gift I ever had! Friendship is the best gift! To know that friends care enough to go through all that trouble to let you know that they are there for you, is a wonderful feeling!!!  I am blessed with such friends. You are the best!!

Christmas Card Therapy

I worked really hard today. I clean my entire basement. When I mean cleaning, I mean cleaning: dusting, washing, vacuuming, scrubbing and scrubbing some more. I started at 8:30am this morning and stopped at 8:00pm. I was exhausted, in pain and totally drained; I just wanted to crawl to bed. I really wanted to, but just couldn't do it. I felt I needed to relax and what better way to relax than coloring images. I needed to get started on my Christmas cards and I chose Roger and Chuck get a Christmas tree for my first one. I was amazed at how easy it all came together. It was like Christmas Card therapy for my weary brain and body. I really needed it!

I also entered this card in the following challenges:
Make it Monday - always Anything Goes
Pollycraft - Boys
Card Cupids - Use a Decorative Punch of Some Type (my snowflakes are made using a punch)
I Did It Creations - Anything Goes
One Stitch At A Time - Anything Goes

I made the above card using one of my own image called Apple Basket and Sunflowers. This is one of my best sellers. I like is because I can use it for all kind of occasions. This time I made a thank you card with it.
